Mission Statement
At Baldor Electric Company, our mission is to be the best (as determined by our customers) marketers, designers and manufacturers of industrial electric motors, power transmission products, drives and generators.
About Baldor
From our head office in Fort Smith, Arkansas USA, we support the sales
offices/warehouses that stock Baldor products worldwide, selling to distributors
and original equipment manufacturers in more than 55 countries. Baldor products
are available from 40 sales offices/warehouses in North America and 25 offices
serving international markets. These products are produced at 15 USA plants,
and one in Bristol, England.
Industrial Motors and Drives
We offer a wide range of motors and drives to cater for diverse customer needs. Our primary products are industrial AC and DC electric motors, ranging in power from 0.015kW (1/50HP) to 1100kW (1500HP). Our 'Super-E' motors are optimized for efficiency, ensuring the lowest operating costs for the customer. We also offer broad lines of brake-motors, explosion-proof, C-face, pump-motors and gear-motors to provide solutions for any purpose or environment.
Baldor's specialist, 'definite purpose' motors are customized for use in distinct industries and environments. This range includes:
- Washdown duty motors for food processing and wet environments
- Heavy-duty, cast iron motors for mills and harsh processing environments
- Dirty duty, quarry duty, crusher duty, explosion-proof and vertical-shaft pump motors.
Baldor can offer custom motors to meet specific requirements. Custom motors are manufactured to the shortest lead times in the industry.
The adjustable speed drives range includes AC inverters and vector controls, DC SCR controls, servos and positioning products. For optimal performance, We offer 'matched performance' capability; matching motor and control packages to suit the customer's needs.
Motion Control Solutions
Board level and fully packaged motion controllers are available. The motion controllers can be configured for multi-axis servo and stepper applications. Onboard I/O can be used to provide machine control in many applications, removing the need for an external PLC. The I/O is easily expanded using the controllers onboard CAN expansion capability. All of our motion controllers, and intelligent servo drives, are programmable in Baldor’s easy to use motion language, Mint.
Baldor offer a complete range of single and three phase servo drives from 2.5A to 27.5A, all supported by a fully featured Windows commissioning tool and auto-tuning. The servo drives are complemented by a range of rotary servo motors, the BSM series, available in both a high performance configuration and a more cost effective higher inertia configuration. For linear motor, Baldor offers one of the most extensive range of linear motors and linear stages in the market today.
HMI Operator Panels
Baldor's range of man-machine interfaces extends from simple, 'dumb' operator panels to programmable, color, TFT, touch-screen panels; all fully supported by the Mint programming language. The programmable panels can offer functions such as graphical displays, conversion of values to meaningful units, programmable alarms and passwords.
Mint Motion Programming and Software
Mint was originated by Baldor UK and has grown to become the industry standard in motion control software with over 50,000 installations worldwide. Mint provides an advanced programming environment, simplifying motion control through high-level commands for sophisticated applications. Mint is a Basic like programming language that will be immediately familiar to many engineers. Mint's multi-tasking capabilities allow complex applications to be easily broken down in manageable pieces.
The Baldor Motion Toolkit allows interfacing with Windows software to control or communicate with motion control subsystems. Provided as a standard ActiveX control, Windows applications can be easily developed in such environments as Visual Basic, Visual C++ and Delphi.
For profiling applications, MintNC offers a complete machine control front end. Standard CAD file formats (including HPGL, DXF and G-code) can be imported and motion generated from the MintNC front end. MintNC is easily configurable for different machine configurations using Mint itself. MintNC is ideally suited to 2.5D applications such as laser cutting, water jet cutting, tangential knife and glue laying.
