Powerlink is a proven real-time deterministic network technology for automation applications. Powerlink is based on standard Ethernet networking technology, IP protocols such as TCP and UDP and standard hardware devices. As such it inherits all of the powerful networking features of Ethernet but solves issues such as data collisions and associated timing issues making it ideal for real-time control applications.
In motion control it provides a replacement for traditional control signals between motion controllers and drives eliminates the need for Fieldbusses and provides a new platform for more advanced control implementations.
