Using a Powerlink router/gateway device yes. This provides isolation between the non-deterministic behaviour of your IS network and the correct operation of the Powerlink devices. It provides all the normal routing technology your IS team will be familiar with but acts as Powerlink devices on the machine network.
Alternatively some Powerlink devices such as those from Baldor can operate in Standard Ethernet mode in some applications where real time performance is not a requirement. Contact Baldor for more information.
